I AM MARRIED TO OUR CULTURE | poems

I AM MARRIED TO OUR CULTURE

why we can’t just talk,
a whole day without lights,
emptiness echoes
slowly.

what should I do,
a whole day
behind the velvet curtains,
seeing his sunshine
from my tiny terrace,
no one smells my existence,
what shall I say?

in a cold castle,
only accompanied by a small glass window,
I only play with cute love birds,
colourful cage
for a somewhere haven,
what do you do with my grief?

all questions I have knitted on my wedding gown,
black and white,
as no other colors fitted with my notion,
I am married to our culture,
no men are allowed to enter,
only sore eyes
of a secret love,
saying congratulations
from the sweetest horizon.
